Body Building champion Christian Gee started training early and he was still a boy when he was in his first junior competition. He has learned some lessons in that time and shares his secrets with the Star Observer.

Gee, 36, explained how he started at such an early age:  “It is just something I always wanted to do as a little boy.  I started at 11 and was in my first competition was 15. It was very enjoyable and I just took from there.

In 2010 he was the winner of the under 100kg division at the 2010 IFBB Nationals Body building event and he attributes his success to three things – discipline, training techniques and nutrition.

As an ambassador with Bioflex, he relies on many of their products to keep his champion physique, but specifically mentions two.

Hydroflex is great as shake post training. It helps me digest food quickly  and it has the right protein balance which helps protein be absorbed,” he said.

But before and after every training session I have five grams of Creaflex as this assists me with strength and endurance to help me train stronger and longer.

Gee also pointed out the men can often push their training too far, too early : “I see guys try and lift too heavier weights, without good form. Lifting heavy is fine, as long as you have good technique. Often blokes need to sacrifice lifting weight – for technique. Being eager to gain muscle size can be a trap.”

“The other thing to watch out for is alcohol. If you going to drink you should know that alcohol inhibits fat metabolisation. So if you drink everyday, you don’t give your body to burn fat. While not binge drinking, which is dangerous,  it is better to only drink once a week rather than daily,” Gee added.
