Rainbow colours on the slopes

Rainbow colours on the slopes

Thredbo’s perfect white snow will be given a rainbow tinge this September.

The inaugural Frosty Fruits Ski Trip, a gay ski long weekend, will be held in the NSW powder capital from September 4-7.

Organiser Adam Bold said the trip promises to be a lot of fun on and off the slopes.

We have made the experience as enjoyable and easy for our guests as possible, Bold said.

And knowing also that some people just can’t afford to take a week or more away from work, particularly in these uncertain times, we’ve created a gay ski weekend.

The weekend will cater for skiers of all abilities and budgets -” with special pampering upgrades available for those not feeling the economic pinch.

The different packages include transport, accommodation, all meals, entertainment, passes, equipment and gear.

Frosty Fruits ski trippers will be based at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel, slap bang in the middle of the village and a stone’s throw from the bottom of the Kosciuszko Express chairlift.

Thredbo has the longest run in Australia and this season promises wonderful skiing conditions, Bold said.
With Thredbo being modelled on European skiing towns with lodges, shopping and nightlife, it has a fantastic village feel, is easy to get around and the locals are incredibly welcoming and friendly.
In addition to the numerous great ski runs, we were able to secure two fantastic venues for our evening events. Saturday night we will be feasting at The Terrace Restaurant, and Sunday night we take over the Après Bar at The Denman Hotel for our Sunday soiree.
The trip also caters to ski boarders and snow bunnies who like the powder, but not the slopes.
The weekend packages start at $1369 for non-skiers and range up to $1600 for an all-inclusive package.
