THE 2016 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras just got a whole lot more exciting for gay men into leather, rubber, BDSM and kink.

Recon — the world’s biggest website for gay fetish profiles — is heading to Australia for the first time ever.

“As Recon continues to expand, we’ve decided it’s only right that we start showing some love to destinations further afield,” the Recon team said.

“Australia has a reputation for providing the world with some incredibly hot men, and we can’t wait to head over there to see all their geared up deviants and perverts.”

More than a million gay, bi and curious men from around the world have downloaded the Recon app and are living out their fetish fantasies. On any given night, at least 20,000 members can be found online.

With the ability to interchange between using Recon’s app and the website to meet kinky men, it has never been easier to indulge your love of leather, rubber, BDSM and kink.

The team at Recon wanted to spread the love worldwide, deciding to fly down under to join in the celebrations of one of the world’s biggest gay pride events. Not content with just joining the party, Recon will be involved in many different events during the Mardi Gras festival which is on now, until March 6.

Recon made its Australian debut at Fair Day yesterday, giving punters the opportunity to speak directly with its friendly team.

Team Recon had whole heap of giveaways — “the return of the jock swap is imminent” — and their marquee was one of the kinkiest and popular Fair Day stalls yet.

However, it wouldn’t be an appropriate introduction to the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras without Recon participating in the festival’s most iconic event: the Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday, March 6.

The is one of the biggest gay pride parades in the world, and Recon will take part to bring fetish to the streets.

Wrapping up this year’s Mardi Gras and Recon’s first visit down under is one of the most anticipated parties of the year: Extra Dirty — Mardi Gras Edition.

The team behind the revolutionary Extra Dirty party has joined forces with Recon to put on an extravaganza of a Mardi Gras after party that will be one of the hottest tickets in town.

Since 2001, the Extra Dirty family has slowly been redefining the gay clubbing scene and this year they will be returning to where it all started at the iconic Oxford Art Factory on Oxford St, Darlinghurst. The two-room basement venue will be heaving with sexy men from the leather and fetish scene both locally and internationally.

Extra Dirty describes its music policy as “techno with gay beats”. Dark, dirty and muscular tunes will be served up by the very best local underground DJs including Feisty, Baby Bear, Juan Velasco and Kam Shafaati, as well as international DJs Alyson Calagna (US) and Mike Kelly (Germany).

Extra Dirty’s Mel Fitzpatrick said teaming up with Recon was a natural fit for both brands.

“It’s great to be able to finally meet the boys from Recon and welcome them to our dance-floor. I think they’ll feel right at home at Extra Dirty,” she said.

“Many of our guys use Recon so it’s a logical relationship for us and it’s great to be able to introduce our patrons to a brand that can offer them opportunities to make new connections. It exposes us to an international audience who might not yet have heard of Extra Dirty.”

Fitzpatrick said the Mardi Gras edition of Extra Dirty was their biggest party of the year and they always had lots of repeat international visitors.

“We’re proudly born and bred in Sydney’s gay underground,” she said.

“We don’t imitate. In fact we like to think Extra Dirty pushes the scene forward in that sense. We have brilliant patrons who are sexy but incredibly friendly and very loyal.”
