The world’s only openly gay royal will visit Sydney and Melbourne in early November to help improve HIV prevention work in the Asia Pacific region.
Prince Manvendra Singh Gohil, crown prince of the Indian state of Rajpipla in Gujarat, made headlines around the world when he came out as a gay man in 2005.
His visit is being coordinated by ACON, with assistance from the Burnet Institute, and funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Australia-India Council.
He is visiting to raise awareness about improving HIV prevention in India and the Asia Pacific through decriminalising homosexuality.
