Debating sexuality and culture

After successful events in Melbourne and Sydney, the Australian GLBTIQ Multicultural Council (AGMC) will bring its sexuality and culture forum to Brisbane.

The forum, ‘Is My Sexuality More Important than my Culture or Religion?’, will be held at the University of Queensland, St Lucia campus on Saturday, June 4.

The forum will look at the tensions between culture, religion and sexuality and will include a range of speakers.

The forum has been supported by Queensland Association for Healthy Communities and is open to all. Entry via gold coin donation. Lunch provided.

The event takes place from noon – 3pm, at Building 7, Parnell Room 222 (7-222), UQ.

    Really! There is too much Religion in Queensland, birthplace of the lITTLE PEBBLE, the Battersby Barracks, violent security at the RBWH towards sick people, and finger-liken Fundies.

    I can remember the Straw hatted, floral-frocked ladies in the JOH years, jumping up and down thumping hallaluja with their Tambourines

    There is definitely no KULCHA to study here….Well maybe the Birdsville Races, boring Gay Magazines, swallowing Beer Cans and smoking Marri ha ha.
    Maybe its different in some way to the southern States.

    Good to see some discussion in QLD about this.

    As oppose to Peter in Brisbane who has clearly given up on the issue, there are people in QLD who care about their culture and where their sexuality fits in.

    I hope it’s a good turn out for you guys.
