‘8’ the play returns to Melbourne

‘8’ the play returns to Melbourne for just three nights from January 31 and will host nightly forums after each performance with some of Melbourne’s well-known queer community members.

As part of the Midsumma Festival, five panellists will join the nightly forums which will be hosted by JOY 94.9FM’s Dean Beck.

All profits go to local community groups Minus 18, the ENUF Campaign and JOY 94.9.

“8 is a captivating, amazing play and the sensational line-up of guests we have for the forum each night is testament to the importance of the debate our community must have,” Beck said.

“Each night the audience will be asked to write down their questions for the panellists.

“In a Q&A style, I will facilitate their responses and we’ll be recording each show for airing on JOY in the weeks to come.

“The play is about marriage equality but I’m hoping to have a broader discussion than that during the forums. Equality is not about marriage.”

8 the play runs at Chapel Off Chapel from January 31-February 2.
