Anti-gay marriage ad becomes viral hit

The US presidential campaign is now in full swing and in an effort to get former Barack Obama supporters to switch political sides to the Republican’s Mitt Romney, an American anti-gay super PAC (or political action committee) has unintentionally produced one of the most hilarious advertisements against the president’s support of same-sex marriage.

The Campaign for American Values ad features a concerned couple discussing how the president is “forcing” gay marriage on the US.

“That’s not the change I voted for,” two actors posing as a married, heterosexual couple both agree.

Called New Morning, the ad’s poor acting and over the top anti-gay marriage message has made it an instant viral hit with nearly 40,000 YouTube views and 3,000 dislike votes.

Political action committees in the US campaign for or against political candidates, ballot initiatives or legislation. At the federal level, an organisation becomes a PAC when it receives or spends more than $1,000 for the purpose of influencing a federal election.
