Aurora a sell-out
The annual Aurora dinner, sponsored by Sydney Star Observer, is officially a sell-out.
All 420 tickets for the event, this year titled Hollywoodland, have been sold, with eager charity supporters jumping at the chance to be a part of the evening, which ensures an ongoing bevy of gourmet food and deluxe entertainment.
I’m very pleased with the strong support shown for the Aurora Annual Dinner, Aurora chair Alex Sosnov said.
Each year we keep growing, building on the history of this fabulous event. Aurora does important work supporting community organisations and projects, and the annual dinner is our main fundraiser. We provide a world class celebration of community with fun and fundraising at its core.
Company B artistic director Neil Armfield will be this year’s keynote speaker. Drawing upon his experiences as one of Australia’s leading stage and film directors, Armfield is sure to entertain and inform the sell-out crowd at the Paddington Town Hall.
Featuring alongside Armfield will be hosts Bob Downe and Nell Schofield (pictured), who will guide audiences through the array of performances from Peter Cousens and Trisha Crowe as well as Helpmann Award nominee Mitchell Butel and Altar Boyz star Jeremy Brennan.
Michael Tyack will feature as musical director for the evening and drag icon Mitzi Macintosh will also grace the stage.
There will be a range of prizes and items for auction in an effort to raise more funds for the Gay and Lesbian Counselling Service, including holidays, artworks, and a range of Hollywood memorabilia and even a pair of autographed swimmers from gay Olympic diver Matthew Mitcham.
