OutBlack founder passes away

With “great respect and admiration” Indigenous GLBT group, OutBlack has informed the community that founding member of OutBlack, Ron Johnson died in Melbourne on Monday October 19.

Johnson was perhaps best known as alter-ego, the grand dame of the OutBlack stage, Miss Yukeye.

Johnson’s funeral will be at the Aboriginal Advancement League (2 Watt Street, Thornbury) on Tuesday October 27  at 11.00a.m.

Following the service the cortege will proceed to Weeroona Aboriginal Cemetery, Greenvale.

A wake will follow at the Aboriginal Advancement League.
