Brisbane Pride Festival Association has teamed up with more than 20 shops in Fortitude Valley to hold the city’s first Shop Till You Drop charity event on December 3.

Participating shops will donate either $5 or 5 percent of each sale to Brisbane Pride to support mental wellness in the LGBTI community.

The day will start at the Wickham Hotel with a free sausage sizzle breakfast and charity auction where you can buy a hot guy or girl to carry your shopping bags.

Proceeds from the boys’ auction will be split between Brisbane Pride and Bootco/Bears and from the girls’ auction between Brisbane Pride and the Lesbian Health Action Group (LHAG).

Shopping will start at 11am with entertainment throughout the day on Fortitude Valley streets.

Organisers say the event is a great way for people to do their Christmas shopping and raise funds for a good cause at the same time. They have encouraged participants to dress with a Christmas theme.
