Calls for ‘gay rehab’ in Malaysia

A Malaysian MP has spoken out against the “levels of homosexuality” in his country and has called on the Government to open a gay ‘rehabilitation’ centre.

Datuk Baharum Mohamad, told Parliament last week that three in 10 men in Malaysia were gay, a figure he described as “scary,” Bernama Online reported.

“We have to find a solution to combat these activities from getting rampant, just like the efforts we take to combat drugs,” he said.

Last year Malaysian authorities sent 66 Muslim schoolboys to a gay ‘cure’ camp after school teachers identified them as being effeminate.

Sodomy is illegal in the country.
