A Divine documentary
A preview for a new documentary about John Water’s long time muse and underground pop sensation Divine has debuted online.
Directed by Jeffrey Schwarz, the man behind Wrangler: Anatomy of an Icon, it is hoped the film will be finished by early next year.
The teaser for the doco, which is tentatively titled I Am Divine, includes clips of Divine from classic films like Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, Polyester, Multiple Maniacs and Hairspray.
Born Harris Glenn Milstead, Divine came to fame in John Waters’ movies but also released four albums and 13 singles over his music career.
He died at the age of 42 on March 7 1988 due to an enlarged heart.
