Bedingfield’s back

Bedingfield’s back

Natasha Bedingfield appears in the top 40 of the Australian singles charts for the first time since 2004 this week with her new duet Jet Lag.

The British pop star, who scored a bunch of hits in the early noughties with songs like Unwritten and These Words, has joined forces with Canadian rockers Simple Plan for an unexpected comeback.

A catchy pop/rock anthem about the disadvantages of long distant relationships, Jet Lag represents a different sound for the usually soulful diva.

Perhaps this is the way forward given frosty reception her 2010 album Strip Me in America – traditionally her biggest market.

Interestingly, Simple Plan also recorded the song with Canadian pop diva Marie-Mai, who sings Natasha’s part in French (listen here).

That version is fun too but I’m on team Bedingfield.
