BLONDIE lead singer Debbie Harry has revealed on Twitter that she turned down an invitation to perform at a music festival in Sochi while the Winter Olympics were still on.

Harry made the revelation buy tweeting a picture of the document (see below) that offered Blondie and her band the chance to perform a gig during Sochi’s Red Rocks Festival on February 13 at the same venue where the Olympic medals are presented.

The picture is scrawled with “Pass Human Rights”, in an apparent stance against Russia’s “gay propaganda” laws.

Harry’s tweet also encouraged fans on Twitter and Facebook to: “Share if you agree …. #pass4humanrights #sochi2014”.

The Sochi Winter Olympics ends on February 23.
