Britney’s first Australian #1

Britney’s first Australian #1

Britney Spears celebrates her first number one album in Australia this week as Femme Fatale debuts in pole position.

It’s hard to believe that mega-selling albums like …Baby, One More Time and Oops!… I Did It Again fell short of the top spot, but they both stalled at number two.

The 29-year-old singer has had considerably more success on the singles chart, scoring five number one hits. The release of her 7th opus has revived the chart fortunes of her latest singles, with her Ke$ha-penned second single Til The World Ends climbing back into the top 20, while Hold It Against Me re-enters the chart at number 32.

Britney is also on track to debut at number one in America this week when the Bilboard Chart is announced on Friday.

She had less luck in Britain, however, where Femme Fatale crawled in at a lowly number 8.
