Dolly sets release date

Dolly Parton fans, mark June 28 in your calender. That’s the day the country music legend has put aside to release her first album in three years.

Better Day, the follow-up to her much loved 2008 opus Backwoods Barbie, features 12 original compositions and will be released independently worldwide on the diva’s own record label.

“I wanted to do an album that would be very uplifting and positive, as well as inspirational,” the Islands In The Stream singer revealed in a recent interview.

“Times are hard all over,” she continued. “I think people need to feel better and I thought Better Day was a perfect title.”

Dolly will unveil the album’s lead single Together You & I with a live performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show scheduled for May 27.

While we wait for that showstopper and dates for the icon’s promised Australian tour, here’s a fabulous rendition of her classic hit (and an SSO office favourite) Here You Come Again from 1978.
