tom2Tom Hardy has got to be named as one of Hollywood’s most versatile actors as he morphs from the Dark Knight Rises villain Bane to the piano prodigy superstar Rocketman himself Sir Elton John in a film that follows the singer’s life, based on a screenplay written by the writer of War Horse Lee Hall.

The movie is said to have Sir Elton John helping out with the project, re-recording many of his classic hits, and his partner David Furnish is to be one of the movies’ producers.

“Tom is quickly becoming known as one of the world’s most versatile actors, and like others at the top of their craft, he has proven his ability to transform himself completely into the character or subject found in the material,” Peter Schlessel, the head of Universal and co-executive producer of the movie, told Variety Magazine.

He added: “We are confident that Tom will embody the physicality and spirit of Sir Elton”.
