Gaga breaks sales records

Gaga breaks sales records

Those pesky plagiarism claims clearly haven’t dented Lady Gaga’s chart fortunes with her new single Born This Way becoming the fastest selling track of all time on American iTunes.

The Fame Monster is predicted to sell upwards of half a million downloads of the song in its first week, possibly more given the publicity surround her Grammy performance.

While Ke$ha’s one day sales record is safe – 251,000 people downloaded Tik Tok on Christmas Day in 2009 – the triple Grammy winner is a certainty to debut on the top of the charts.

Gaga’s dominance extends to radio where Born This Way scored 2445 first day spins – almost four times the previous record held by Britney’s Hold It Against Me.

Looks like she won that much hyped diva battle with a first round KO.

  1. Oh, Please! Madonna did Marilyn and #Gaga draws from #Madonna. Difference? Madge did EXACT copy, not creative tribute w her own creativity!
