Gaga faces fresh plagiarism claim

Still smarting from accusations that Born This Way rips off Madonna’s Express Yourself, Gaga is facing new claims that her latest single borrows elements from a track called WannaBE by underground electro-pop diva Loli Lux.

But unlike Madge, Loli isn’t holding her tongue.

The outraged DJ turned singer has issued a press release, saying she contacted RedOne through mutual friends and sent him her track.

That was the last she heard from Mother Monster’s producer until Judas debuted using a very similar hook.

“It’s sad when my work is ripped off like that but I have more new and really great unreleased material that I will keep safely guarded for now.”

Acoording to Loli, this isn’t the first time Lady Gaga has stolen from her.

“I have always crossed paths with Gaga through having mutual friends, it’s not the first time she has borrowed ideas from me,” she confides.

“It was previously my DJ trademark to wear military hats but I had to stop that after Gaga started doing the same.”

Ms Lux also points out that her track was first released in 2009 and was a big hit in the Ukraine.

You can listen to the songs side by side by clicking here.

There are definitely some similarities.

  1. This song may not be as obvious, but you all are crazy if you think Lady GaGa is remotely creative. The Europeans and Asians have been doing it for years, and all Lady GaGa is doing is watering down electro music for pop listeners in America…nothing more than that.

Just go listen to SNSD – Be Happy, and you can tell me she is creative.

  2. Loli Lux’s claims are unfounded. Basic fame-mongering. For one, you can’t copyright a bass line. For two, as a composer, I’ve come up with wildly similar hooks after playing around on the piano for 5 minutes. The bass line in Lux’s song is twelve different kinds of generic. As for her “military hats” claim, yes, nobody has EVER thought of putting a pretty girl in a military hat to make an “ironic” statement before. Apparently, Lux never saw Madonna’s “American Life” video or any of the countless variations on this theme in the past 20 years.

I live in Minneapolis. There’s a local artist here named Lolly Pop who has been making similar accusations against Gaga for years. Lolly Pop, as I know from personal experience, is a very special kind of crazy. I’ve learned to take these accusations against Gaga with a grain of salt, as they’re little more than desperation and jealousy.

  3. This does not sound like Judas at all. Gaga is the only artist today who sounds remotely different from the generic electropop produced by Max Martin and Dr. Luke. I’m sick of people trying to bring her down by accusing her of plagiarism when 90% of today’s music all stems from the same production sounds and the same chords.

  4. This article was crap. Sourced from ‘Pop Trash Addicts’? Focus on important news! PS Both songs suck
