Kelly Clarkson covers Eric Hutchinson

Kelly Clarkson covered Eric Hutchinson’s Why Don’t You Try at Muhammad Ali’s Celebrity Fight Night party on the weekend.

After informing fans that her already completed album would be postponed until September due to record company politics, the inaugural American Idol winner could be giving us a preview of what’s to come.

She already confirmed that Eric, best known for his 2009 hit Rock and Roll, had written a song for the album, but there’s no word yet if this is it.

Given the positive feedback from fans, Kelly should consider putting Why Don’t You Try on the album anyway.

It showcases her powerful pipes and would be a throwback to the soulful sound of her debut Thankful.

Give it a listen below and check out Eric’s original version here.

  1. Mike, you might want to remove that video and replace it with this one, which is the full song. The last minute is out of this world and proves that Kelly Clarkson is the best female Pop vocalist in the world. Kelly’s friend and hairdresser recorded it. Thanks so much Ashley Donovan!!!
