LISTEN: Madonna’s Gang Bang

Madonna has released the latest in a series of teasers for her new album MDNA.

Gang Bang is unfortunately not about what you might think, as the lyrics below reveal.

“Bang bang shot you dead/ Shot my lover in the head. I’m going straight to hell – I’ve got a lot of friends there. If you’re gonna act like a bitch, you’re gonna die like a bitch!”

What do you make of Madonna’s latest electro outing?

  1. I think it’s fantastic, bit of dark house, luv it!

Madonna songs do exactly what they are meant to do, all of her songs are produced with an intention of what she wants the song to do or feel, e.g, Give me all your luvin, is meant to be a light fluffy fun pop track, Girl gone wild is meant to be a dance floor get down & dance track, that is more about the sound then lyrics. Gang Bang is a dark sexy, dirty house track. If you can see the songs as how they are intended to be you can appreciate them & enjoy them, however if you wanting & expecting something else you won’t enjoy them. The thing about most of Madonna’s lyrics/songs is, they can be interoperated in many ways, which is what an artist does, it makes people think & question.

Part of what makes Madonna so brilliant at what she does, & why she has stayed on top for so long, is she is always pushing her own boundaries when it comes to her music, she is always experimenting with her work & she is never afraid to try new things. Madonna knows some people will like it & some will hate it, yet she still mixes it up & does what she wants to do & not what people expect her to do. She is a very smart woman on many levels. I find her so interesting in many ways. Madonna is a true artist, she never backs away from controversy & has never been afraid to be as creative as she can be. I think all the songs I have heard off the new album so far are all going to come together as a very enjoyable album to listen to, like all her albums are when you understand them. She has another big hit on her hands with this album, thats for sure :)

  2. It’s definitely more the direction I was hoping she’d go. Far more enjoyable to listen to that the other two “songs”. They were absolutely appalling and amateur. This one has a little more authenticity to it and it has kind of fun retro 90’s dance feel to it.

  3. A 3-year-old could write better lyrics, and the melody is missing in action. The backing sounds like a preset on one of those free drum machines you can download for the iPad. Hire a songwriter already.
