New music from Adam Lambert

Pop star Adam Lambert will release his highly anticipated second album Trespassing on March 16 through Sony Music Entertainment Australia.

The album’s first single Better Than I Know Myself will be made available for sale on December 21 through iTunes and all digital music providers and will be serviced to Australian radio that morning.

Fans who pre-order Trespassing from Adam’s website will also receive an instant MP3 download of his new single.

Lambert describes the new album, which he executive produced as an exciting journey through the past two years of his life.

“It’s been a transformative period and I really wanted to make music from what I’ve experienced. All these songs honestly explore the ups and downs of my reality,” he said.

In addition to co-writing many of the tracks, Lambert collaborated with an all star list of award winning artists, producers and songwriters including Pharrell Williams, Dr. Luke, Claude Kelly, Benny Blanco, Bonnie McKee, Nile Rogers, Sam Sparro, Bruno Mars, Nikka Costa and BC Jean.

Since the release of Lambert’s debut album For Your Entertainment in 2009, it has sold over 1 million copies worldwide. Lambert was nominated for a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for Whataya Want From Me in 2010.

  1. Love this song, it keeps getting better and better each time I hear it. Adam can sing anything and make it sound good, but this song fits him and that outer worldly voice to perfection.

  2. This is the right song for adam although am looking forward to listen to the whole trespassing album. Adam is so versatile and great singer.

  3. In the world of GAGA, Britney, Rihanna, Kesha, Justin, Usher, Beyonce, etc. this is so different and emotes feelings that you will never find in their songs–imo. FYE had stellar performances which never got the recognition they deserved-have you ever listened to A Loaded Smile or Broken Open? I mean you don’t hear these vocals from the so called artists out there today. And even better, go see Adam Lambert live. He is absolutely incredible. I have seen him twice and you come away shaking your head wondering how he does it show after show–never missing a note, changing it up each time. The music business is so screwy in what is out there–half of the singers cannot perform live. Just read some of the comments from people who have seen them and are disappointed because they are lip syncing or aren’t auto tuned like on their albums. End of story-I love this song–just listen carefully to the vocals and the emotions behind them.

  4. Generic … HUH?? No way!! I don’t like Claude Kelly’s demo but that’s exactly what it is … a demo. Adam has put his own spin on this song, such that it sounds nothing like Claude Kelly’s demo. This song should be a sure fire winner for Adam, and I’m looking forward to hearing Trespassing, Adam’s new album on 16 March.

  5. A great single to lead off Lambert’s new album. The song is catchy – the vocals incredible – the production terrific. No reason why this shouldn’t be a hit for him. (Especially gorgeous are the “layering” vocals – what’s greater than Adam singing with Adam?)

  6. I LOVE THIS SONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! (: haha i don’t care what you haters say, afterall haters gon’ hate, but WOOHOOOO ADAM (: keep rocking babyyy <3

  7. It’s a good song but not a great one and doesn’t showcase his voice to it’s full potential. However the album will sell well I’m sure. I’d like to see this artist start to really stand out as someone original seeing as he is so incredibly talented. I hope he brings more of a Rock flavour into the new album. The best songs on the FYE album in my opinion was “Aftermath” and “Sleepwalker” but I don’t think these were released as singles (correct me if I’m wrong). The other songs sounded like something written for the Eurovision Song Contest. Sorry, but he is better than that. He has the whole package.

  8. The song has grown on me. Generic or not, ADAM needs a song that’s radio friendly.
Something that’s catchy to get the attention of the mass listeners especially those who are not familiar with ADAM as a the best vocalist. I pray this would be a big hit.

  9. generic??? I certainly haven’t heard anything like this, and no voice ever so pure and clear as Adams is. This is radio ready and this is the perfect lead in to the more out of the box songs to come on this album. Get ready for a wild ride

  10. Well I love the song from the outstanding vocals to the wonderful drum beat. This is my favorite song from him yet. If it doesn’t become very popular, I will be surprised. Great job to Adam and Claud.

  11. Generic sounding? Seriousley everyone thinks they are experts. People who know what they are talking about have called it fresh and radio ready. People need to reaslise for adam espeically its not all about showing off adams vocals, not everyone knows he is the best singer in the world, if a catcy tune brings in new fans then its all good. The industry is a buisness, besdies his vocals are so clear.

  12. @aaron: don’t be so serious. The song sounds great. When i heard Claud Kelly sing BTINM, I didn’t like the song, but just once heard Adam sing, i totally love this song. That is thing that only his voice can do. Trespassing will be the biggest in 2012 and BTINM is a hit for sure. Adam is the executive producer of Trespassing, definitely the CD is great.

  13. It’s not bad but it’s very generic sounding. If you heard it on the radio without knowing who it was you’d not really know it was Adam. He should really be working on setting himself apart from the current sound, and in America Idol contestants often struggle with the 2nd album (Kelly Clarkson being an exception) so if he’s not careful the album could sink without a trace without a big hit to kick it off.

  14. Have to admit I am on the fence with this new single BTIKM. I was expecting Nine Inch Nails meets Saturday Night Fever pop rock anthem as Adam has mentioned previously. I find his high notes a bit overproduced. Don’t hate me. I love FYE and the Glam Nation Tour and the amazing EMA Queen performance.
Having said that, this may just be a tease/taste of the great singles to be released from the cd next year. I hope so.
Also, since he is now managed by Katy Perry’s Direct Management Group they should promote the hell out of it. He did not get enough promotion for FYE. The fans did most of it. Several more radio ready singles should have been released from FYE. I still want to hear BTIKM blasting from radio stations though.

  15. Incredible, if this is a taste of what to come, and adam diddn’t even write this song. Claude Kelly did, Adam this time next year well be the biggest megastar in the world, just as big as lady gaga. Adam deserves it, know one in the world today has his voice, look, charisma, moves, and appeal.
