Queer as Folk gets fan convention

Queer as Folk gets fan convention

In a world first, a fan convention will be held later this year for the successful gay cult series Queer as Folk with the complete main US cast.

From June 8-10, for the first time worldwide, the convention will take place in Cologne, Germany.

The organisers expect all nine US actors from the series and fans from all over the world can take part in discussions, attend autograph and photo sessions, participate in guided city tours and enjoy a close encounter with the actors during a party event that’ll bring Babylon to life.

Gale Harold (Brian Kinney) and the multi Emmy and Golden Globe-award winning actress Sharon Gless have announced their participation, along with Scott Lowell, Peter Paige, Randy Harrison, Hal Sparks, Thea Gill, Robert Gant and Michelle Clunie.

“For many fans who have known each other for years only through the internet on fanboards and such, it will be the first possibility ever to meet each other and chat about Queer as Folk in person,” convention organiser Elke Kriebel said.

Queer as Folk was set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and told the story of six homosexual men and their lesbian friends.

Tickets and more information about the convention are available here: www.risenshine2012.de
