Rufus Wainwright to marry
Rufus Wainwright has announced plans to marry his partner later this year, The Daily Mail reports.
The Canadian crooner has been with theatre producer Jorn Weisbrodt for five years. They plan to marry in Montauk on August 23.
Wainwright had previously said he wasn’t interested in marriage.
“Oddly enough, I’m actually not a huge gay marriage supporter,” he told the New York Press in 2008.
Most recently he was quoted as saying his thoughts on the issue had changed since meeting Weisbrodt.
The couple already share a daughter, Viva, with Lorca Cohen, daughter of legendary musician Leonard Cohen.
Wainwright’s new album, Out of the Game, is released on April 20.
