CONTROVERSIAL Liberal Party Senator Cory Bernardi has angered many around the country with revelations his new book that contains attacks on everything from same-sex marriage, single mothers and abortion to workplace rights, the Red Cross, and Islam.

Bernardi’s The Conservative Revolution decries the role of “non- traditional” families in promoting “social chaos”, arguing for the primacy of a family model led by a married, heterosexual couple and criticising single-parent families, step-families, and families with children born via surrogacy.

The South Australian senator’s comments have been met with widespread criticism, particularly for his statements calling pro-choice advocates “pro-death”, and abortion services a “death industry”.

Grayndler federal Labor MP Anthony Albanese has called on Prime Minister Tony Abbott to dissociate himself from Bernardi’s views, while Greens Senator Richard Di Natale compared Bernardi’s views to the racist positions of former One Nation leader Pauline Hanson.

Bernardi has also been widely criticised from within the LGBTI community, with Victorian Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby co-convener Corey Irlam dismissing his latest attacks as “laughable”.

“Bernadi’s outdated social views have yet again shown his lack of connection to modern Australia,” Irlam told the Star Observer.

“Bernadi’s proposal to move Australia back to a two-class system of families where nuclear families are put on a pedestal and all other forms of loving families are stigmatised and delegitimised is laughable at best, and lacks scientific credibility. It’s unworthy of discussion.”

Meanwhile this morning, reports have emerged that Bernardi was considering taking legal action against fellow Liberal federal MP Warren Entsch after public comments he made on Bernardi’s “gay obsession”.

”He’s obviously got an obsession with people that are gay,” Mr Entsch said.

”It worries me. You’ve really got to watch out for those that have these obsessions. He who protests the loudest …”

  1. What u silly wankers don’t understand is that cunts like Cory Bernadi support attacks on gay people including attacks similar to that Shephard boy – Cory Bernadi is an evil pernicious weed – similar to adolf hitler – and he needs to be weeded out

  2. I find the comments here to be very offensive and childish, no wonder there is no marriage equality in Australia. One only has to look at ones self in the mirror. Sexual connotations and claiming he is a closet homosexual is right disgraceful.

    • I agree Oliver. Yes Cory’s comments and views are hateful, but being childish and slugging vulgar comments like the ones here does no one any good.

If we lower ourselves to Cory’s level, why are we any better? Fight him with common sense and intellect, not just reversing his insults: “no I’m not, you are!”

  3. Im disgusted in the comments by the so called tolerant gay community, they are very offensive and doesnt do anything positive for the gay cause, Grow up!

    • Grow up Oliver – Cory deserves a lynch mob and his comments will result in gay bashings and gay hatred – we need to throw it back at him – u can sit there like Eleanor Roosevelt but u know what – fuck Cory Bernardi and his gay hatred !!!!

  4. How disgusting some of comments are on here wishing him dead. Such detailed violence and callousness and sexually explicit comments. Just imagine of tony spoke with such hatred about another person??? left wings are such hypocrites…

    • Get lost. Cory is the hypocrite. Anyway, its called free speech as you right whingers always whinge and carry on about….

      • What makes you think Kate is right wing? You see what carrying on with violent nonsense like is doing? Diving our own side. Isn’t this what Corey wanted in the first place?

Also, I always find it hilarious when someone quotes ‘freedom of speech’ to silence another. Wasn’t Kate was just exercising that right too? Not to mention, freedom of speech doesn’t actually cover the right to wish violence, rape, and the other immature arguments I’ve seen here.

    • Kate – what u don’t get (apparently) is that a-holes like Cory Bernadi open the door to legitimized gay hate violence by police and other thugs – so he needs to be repulsed with the same force as if he was Adolf hitler – which is a strong statement – but it’s 100% valid – Cory bernadi is a pernicious weed – an evil hateful scourge – who is probably a closet gay – and he needs to receive damnation

      • I can’t speak for Kate, but I do get that. I still agree with Kate, think throwing vulgar, violent comments back is the answer. Peaceful protest is always the best approach. Forceful protest is needed in extreme cases. Cory’s ridiculous book is getting so much criticism around the world, his followers are minimal in the greater Aust population, not to mention we have the right to raise our families as we wish.

Cory does need some protest to know him out of politics (unfortunately we have another 6 years yet) but is he as dangerous as Hitler? No. He simply doesn’t have the respect or following Hitler did.

Lets keep our arguments smart, logical and in line with modern day living. Thats the argument we simply can’t win on. Flinging verbal abuse and name calling? He already has that, and it gets no one anywhere.

  5. I wonder if his new “book” comes with a colouring in section and crayons? It would be appropriate for a fucking imbecile like Bernardi.

    • I read the comments and there’s no threat of violence against Cory – just some comments speculating as to why he hates gays so much

  6. Can’t wait to hear this twisted sad individual is getting fucked hard by an ultra hung hooker on Meth – like Ted Haggart and a bunch of similar gay hating whackos who – surprise surprise – turn out to be cock sucking faggots who love big dick

    • Yeah I’m sure Cory likes to be called Suzi as he gets screwed in full leather outfit his mother picked out for him

  7. Cory looks like a lunatic – his funny fixated stare – if he could kill Harvey Milk no doubt he would

  8. Bernardi should have been aborted by his mother, then we would not have to put up with his bigotry, spitefulness, and hate filled dribble. Hopefully he may get hit by a car, train or bus, we can only hope.

    • His mother should have hit him on the head with a shovel as he slithered away from the womb – no doubt his mother is ashamed he still breathes – he is hateful low life scum – the Josef goebbels of Australian politics
