Creative women in concert
Award-winning Indigenous Australian singer-songwriter Kerrianne Cox will perform a concert in Sydney on April 21, organised by Creative Womyn.
With a powerful, soulful voice reminiscent of the great women of jazz and blues, Cox’s music examines the culture and struggles of Indigenous people on the road to empowerment.
She’ll be joined at the concert by two special guests — American devotional singer Carrie Grossman, and singer, guitarist and drummer Maitreya, who is soon to release a new album of kirtan chants.
The concert, to be held at the Sydney Harmony Centre in Camperdown, starts at 7.30pm with a suggested door entry of $15/$25. It’s the latest in a long line of lesbian and lesbian-friendly events organised by Creative Womyn Down Under founders and producers Georgina JD Abrahams and Gabrielle Journey Jones, the team behind last year’s Lesbian Weekender festival.
