Melbourne spook-dance outfit the Midnight Juggernauts are back with a slight tweak to their sound: gone are the summery synths that made their earlier work such an enjoyable Daft Punk derivative. In their place is an intriguing bag of musical influences — from ’70s MOR rock on Vital Signs to Flaming Lips-esque ’60s psychedelia on Lara Versus The Savage Pack. And in the driving Lifeblood Flow, they’ve delivered their best song since the otherworldly career high Shadows.
