Dolly’s 9-5

Dolly’s 9-5

Hello,

Your national enquirer is back.

It’s been quite a week hasn’t it, especially if you like your sport. I’m not overly sporty but I am quite partial to the men who play it. Don’t get me wrong, I do go to the gym, but generally I just hang around the showers. This is all about to change however as I, Dolly Diamond, want to drop at least one dress size by Christmas… that’s this Christmas.

Next week I’ll give you all my statistics and you can follow/mock my progress. I’ll be honest and upfront with you and with a little help I’ll have a little less upfront and behind in no time at all.

Don’t forget it’s Bake Off time in Melbourne this weekend – oh the temptation – with all the proceeds going to Pride March. Get along to DT’s Hotel on Saturday and support this fabulous event hosted by legend Linzi Kurileff.

Pride Football Tournament – UNSW

Saturday, October 6

The 2012 Pride Football Australia tournament kicks off tomorrow hosted by the Sydney Rangers and the Flying Bats Womens team. The two teams start the day with what we hope will be a very “friendly” Australia V’s The World match at 12pm at UNSW’s David Phillips Field Complex, Daceyville.

There will be no rest for the girls as they then go head-to-head with the Melbourne Rovers Women’s team for the Julie Murray Cup at 1pm.

The final game, Rangers V’s Rovers for the Justin Fashanu Cup.

Get along and cheer them all on, and may the best teams win on the day – I’ll stay Switzerland on this one.

Boy George DJ set – Circus Bar, Melbourne

October 13

I’ve been a fan of Boy George/Culture Club ever since I was a little girl. There was a while there when I too preferred a cup of tea to Class A’s. I went to quite a few of his parties back in my youth at Bagleys in London and they were no tea parties. Well, fast forward several years and a lot has changed. However, Boy George is still recording some great music (thanks, Mark Ronson). He’s also made his mark as a club DJ.

In town for the Melbourne Festival, he’s doing an exclusive set for Stereo Lovers at Circus Bar – that Dean Murphy can be so persuasive.

“We’re so excited that he’s chosen Stereo Lovers. As you can imagine it is going to sell out,” Murphy tells me.

Come and see what all the fuss is about and enjoy a night at the Circus with Boy George and Stereo Lovers.

Brisbears Northern Exposure 2012

October 18-21

If you like your activities a little on the hairy side, then you’re in for an apocalyptic treat.

This year’s Northern Exposure has events like an underwear party at Mineshaft Bar with DJs Doug MC and Mikey B, as well as a pool party on the beargenda.

It’s going to be four days to remember but with a name like apocalypse, good luck with that.

BrisBears have recommended that you take a pair of clean undies for when you meet your maker, or at the very least get it on with one or two sexy bears.

One or two? Go on treat yourself it’s Northern Exposure, have a slew of ‘em.
