Freezone donates to Thai project

Sydney’s GLBT volleyball group, Freezone, has raised $650 to donate to ACON’s Thai community project.
The cheque will be presented at a special Thai dinner that will function both as a Freezone social event and an opportunity to raise awareness of ACON’s work.

The community-based organisation relies on funding from the NSW government and small grants from the public and private sectors but donations are gratefully received.

Solomon Wong from ACON’s Asian Project says community support has always been critical in the delivery of ACON’s services, and Freezone’s donation will assist with the distribution costs of a sexual health campaign to be launched later this year.

The project’s aim is to increase the use of condoms and water-based lube amongst members of the Thai gay community in order to bring down its HIV infection rates.
