Freezone gets new coach

Freezone gay and lesbian volleyball club has appointed a new coach, Albert Khaicy, to train members during their regular weekly sessions.
Khaicy’s appointment is something of a coup for the club — he has a distinguished career, spanning more than 40 years, as both a volleyball player and coach.
In line with Khaicy’s appointment, the Freezone website has added a new coaching page. At the moment, the page features YouTube clips of basic volleyball skills, but its functionality will soon be expanded so members can record training sessions and add their thoughts on the club’s development.
An additional weekly Wednesday night match is now being offered to members who wish to participate, as Khaicy is keen to encourage members to play at least twice a week.
The venue, Riverwood Community Centre at 152 Belmore Rd, Riverwood has a single court. Freezone can assist with car pooling where possible. Entry cost is $5 per person and the match runs from 7.30-9.30pm. All skill levels are encouraged to participate.
