A recent concert by alternative rock group Garbage was put on hold half way through as the stage was given over to a wedding proposal between two male fans.
Last week in Detroit, the band – which has a loyal LGBTI following – stopped their concert at the midpoint as frontwoman Shirley Manson brought two male fans, Scott and Dominic on stage.
Manson proceeded to explain to the expectant audience how Scott had been in contact with the band via Facebook, expousing the virtues of his “super amazing” boyfriend and that Manson and Scott had talked about “a few other things”.
The firey Scottish frontwoman then handed over the spotlight to the fans, telling Scott “it’s all yours baby-doll”.
Scott then attempted to get through a proposal to Dominic as a completely surprised and supportive audience cheered them on.
Scott had barely gone down on one knee before Dominic starting saying “Yes…yes!”
After the proposal Manson explained how Scott had told her that they were meant for each other because they both had Garbage albums in their collections. The band then dedicated their song Vow to the newly engaged couple.
