Get creative for CoastOut

Short films, an art exhibition and a marriage equality workshop are the latest additions to this year’s CoastOut Festival at Coffs Harbour.

Film buffs can whet their appetites at the inaugural CoastOut Film Shorts festival running over four sessions from Thursday, October 27 at the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery.

Short LGBTI comedies, dramas and documentaries are on offer, sourced from the Queer Fruits Film Festival, including both Australian and global content.

Session 2 on October 29 includes a champagne brunch with Rodney Croome from the Tasmanian Gay and Lesbian Rights Group and anti-homophobia educator Daniel Witthaus.

Ordinary sessions are $20, while the champagne brunch screening is $40.

Before the champagne brunch, Croome and Witthaus will host a marriage equality workshop at the gallery from 9.30am – 11.30am.

The workshop is free but registration is essential. RSVP to Raymond at [email protected]

Local talent will be on display for the CoastOut Art Exhibition on October 22. Held at the Cr8 studio, the exhibition will feature the work of new and emerging artists from the region with works by Jan Allsopp, Jeramie Carter and Tony Solomons. Photographs, paintings, jewellery and sculpture will be available for purchase.

Entry is free.
