Get loose at the weekend

Get loose at the weekend

The October long weekend wouldn’t be the same without the relaunch of Sydney’s most mixed-up, loved-up, fun-loving party. Thankfully, DJ and promoter Matt Vaughan’s long-running Sunday night party institution, Loose Ends, emerges from winter hibernation for the Big Gay Weekend.

And the debut party of the season should go off with a bang, what with the blessed Monday public holiday.

Head to Phoenix at 34 Oxford St from 10pm to hear the newest of the new in everything from underground dance to classic house, electroclash, pop, New Wave, disco, indie, R&B, booty, sleaze and more.

Mix masters on the night include resident DJ Matt Vaughan, fresh from a trip to New York where he’s been sourcing the hottest sounds, plus special guest DJs Vinyl Richie and Avra-Cybele. Punters will also be treated to a very revealing floor show from the oh-so-hot Ryan Jace.

This is also the first time that all of Sydney’s best party promoters have joined with New Mardi Gras to help raise money for the Parade Fund. Each promoter has agreed to donate a portion of ticket sales in exchange for NMG’s help in promoting and advertising their events. The team at Loose Ends will donate $1.50 of every $10 cover charge to NMG.

And remember, while this is a return of sorts, Loose Ends isn’t in full swing yet: the party will only be held on the first Sunday of the month until December when the weekly parties kick off again, so don’t miss your chance to get Loose on October 2.
