Man arrested after asking for help to attack Tel Aviv Pride

A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested for asking for help carrying out a terror attack on this weekend’s Tel Aviv Pride festivities.

Police arrested the man after he used Facebook to ask, “Who’s coming with me to carry out a terror attack at the Pride march?”, Gay Star News has reported.

The man claimed he only made the post because he was bored.

“Every year around the gay pride events we see a sharp increase in threats against members of the community with violent expressions and incitement,” said Gil Fishoff of the Nir Katz Center for LGBT violence in Tel Aviv.

“We work regularly with the Israel police to examine each and every case on its merits in view of the tragic event of the murder of Shira Banki in the Jerusalem Pride parade.”

16-year-old Banki was stabbed to death in 2015 by an extremist who also injured several others. The murder came just weeks after the attacker was released from a prison sentence for stabbing three people at the 2005 parade.

Tel Aviv Pride attracts over 200,000 people, and is one of the biggest pride celebrations in the world.
