Kylie debuts at number one

KYLIE Minogue’s 12th studio album for Mushroom/Warner Music Australia, Kiss Me Once has “bounced bounced” to the top of the charts and has made history this week by being the first Australian artist to debut at number one in the ARIA Album Chart for 2014.

An overjoyed Kylie, who has long been an LGBTI ally and icon, sent this message to thank her fans for giving her the first number one in the world for this album: “Big kisses to all my amazing Aussie fans for giving me my fourth #1 album! I can’t wait to come home in April to celebrate!”

With worldwide album sales of over 70 million, Kiss Me Once is Kylie’s fourth album to reach the coveted top spot on Australia album charts. It has been 14 years since Kylie’s first #1 with Light Years in 2000, followed by the seven-times platinum Fever in 2001 and X in 2007.

Kylie returns to Australia in April to perform the next single from what has been described as her sexiest album yet at the TV Week Logie Awards. After Easter, Kylie will light up screens across the nation in her role as coach on The Voice Australia.

Kylie’s triumphant return to the top of the charts comes just a couple of days after she introduced over two million YouTube viewers to the hot and steamy world of her single Sexercize. Sexercize.tv has also been launched and takes the craze to new levels where the viewer can continue the Sexercize experience by watching different interpretations of the song.

Overnight, Kylie was reunited with Jason Donovon to perform their duet Especially For You with help from David Walliams at Sports Relief charity fundraiser on BBC. Watch the magical moment here:

Kiss Me Once was produced by both Kylie and Australia’s other international hit maker, Sia Furler, who co-wrote the title track and the aforementioned Sexercize that has the world spinning around.
