Christine Forster launches bid for NSW upper house
THE lesbian sister of Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has is set to contend for a place in the NSW upper house in the next State Election.
Forster (pictured above), who is currently a Liberal councillor for City of Sydney, has nominated to be preselected to a position on the Liberal Party’s upper-house ticket for the election in March.
The news comes after speculation of her possibly focusing on becoming a candidate for Lord Mayor of Sydney in the 2016 council elections.
NSW Parliament currently has a few openly-gay MPs, including Sydney independent MP Alex Greenwich and Coogee Liberal MP Bruce Notley-Smith in the lower house. In the upper house, there’s Penny Sharpe, who has also been preselected as Labor’s candidate for the newly-formed electorate of Newtown.

I was going to vote for her and then the word “Liberal” came up…
Liberal, ah sorry no dice, no vice and no vote from me!
Vote 1 Australian Sex Party (ASP)!
And Labor’s Helen Westwood, also in the Upper House.
