LGBTI community organisations invited to apply for Aurora’s small grants program

NSW-based LGBTI charity group Aurora have opened applications for a grant of up to $5000 through their small grants program.

Community organisations which are working to provide a benefit to LGBTI communities in NSW and have deductible gift recipient status can apply for the small grants program.

In 2014, seven organisations were awarded a total share of $33 000 including Women in Prison Advocacy; Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, and Queer Screen.

“There are so many worthy organisations out there working to support our community every day, sometimes all they need is a helping hand and that’s what Aurora aims to provide,” King said.

This year, the St George Foundation has joined Aurora to provide another $5000 grant specifically targeting youth-focussed initiatives in the community.

In addition to the small grants program, Aurora’s major grants recipient is Twenty10 which incorporates the Gay and Lesbian Counselling Service (GLCS).

Application forms for the small grants program are available here. Applications close October 23.

Aurora relies on community support to provide these small grants that help make a difference. Donations can be made online at any time.
