New platform for young party planners
Are you the next Mardi Gras planner? Perhaps you just love having parties or setting up live music gigs?
Young LGBTI people are being invited to join the Youth Indent Team and help put on drug and alcohol free live music events for young people in Sydney this year. Volunteers aged 12-24 and who are passionate about the music industry or event management are needed for the team.
The events are planned, implemented and evaluated by the team of young people and is a first for the City of Sydney.
“For us, it’s about creating a vibrant city where young people can be active participants. A lot of city entertainment is just for adults, especially the late-night economy. Other councils run these Indent programs with all-age gigs, but Sydney hasn’t for a very long time,” organiser Jenna Bloom said.
The program’s first recruitment meeting will be held at Millers Point Youth Centre on Wednesday January 30.
