QUEER Screen joined the National Volunteer Week celebrations last week by awarding the inaugural Frank Wells Volunteer Award to Susie Griffin, a long-time volunteer who was chosen by her colleagues.
“Volunteers are the lifeblood of any not-for-profit organisation and every month hundreds of hours of volunteer time go into keeping Queer Screen alive and relevant”, Queer Screen president Giovanni Campolo-Arcidiaco said.
“We are fortunate and grateful to have a great team to work with, and much support from our members and supporters.”
The award ceremony that took place at Ginger’s on Oxford St in Sydney.
The event also saw the launch of this year’s Power of You donation drive campaign, with Queer Screen aiming to raise $15,000 for the upcoming Queer Screen Film Fest 2014 and the Mardi Gras Film Festival 2015.
