Taylor Square community markets continue to grow

The newly announced Taylor Square Community Market is growing to carnival proportions as more businesses sign up for the February 28 event.

Stonewall, the Colombian and the Oxford Art Factory have all confirmed their involvement with the market organised by the Darlinghurst Business Partnership in conjunction with the City of Sydney Council.

There will be free street trading on Taylor Square for both local businesses and GLBT-affiliated community groups. Kinselas and The Colombian will provide musical entertainment while Stonewall has invested in a stage to be presided over by DIVA winner Tora Hymen.

The Oxford Art Factory stall will showcase the work of young artists who feature at the venue’s monthly art fair.

Timed to coincide with the influx of people coming into the area for Mardi Gras, it is hoped the fair will become an ongoing feature to attract business into the area and add to the sense of community.

The Taylor Square Community Markets will be a celebration for locals and showcase Darlinghurst’s amazing creative and artistic communities to visitors, Lord Mayor Clover Moore said.
