Channel 10’s The Project introduces first trans male guest host

CHANNEL 10 has debuted its first trans male host on its news-based chat show The Project this week.

Andrew Guy will be a guest host on the show for the week after winning a contest through Sydney’s WS-FM Jonesy and Amanda program.

Guy, who transitioned not long after his 30th birthday, shared his story with the Star Observer back in 2011.

When Guy came back from a brief acting stint in the US in 2011, he was approached by Madison magazine for a profile article based on his transition process from his blog and YouTube channel.

From there, Guy shared his story in interviews with The Kyle and Jackie O Show and Channel 10’s The Circle.

Guy, who attributed Caitlyn Jenner as role model for the trans* community, chose to document his transition for educational purposes and to help others like him who were not comfortable in the gender assigned to them at birth.

Having lived most of his life wanting to be a man, Guy described his teenage years during the interview on The Project as: “I’d have to say, badly and suppressed. I don’t recommend it to a lot of people.”
