Kylie’s video double take

Kylie’s video double take

It’s been a busy couple of days for Australia’s favourite pop star – with two new video clips hitting the internet in as many days.

Friday saw the premiere of “Higher”, Kylie’s much hyped collaboration with UK urban pop sensation Taio Cruz.
The video finds the pint-sized diva posing seductively in the back of a BMW being driven around an abandoned car park before joining Taio for some raunchy dance moves. It’s a lot better than it sounds! Check it out:

Despite not being officially released until mid-January, “Higher” looks set to be another chart hit for the gay icon. The song is already top 40 on both radio airplay and iTunes with no promotion.

If that wasn’t enough Minogue goodness for one weekend, the pop legend’s “Better Than Today” video debuted the very next day.

And the Pacman inspired video has a very special claim to fame – it was directed by Kylie herself (with a little help from long time stylist William Baker)!

The diva’s directorial debut is a simple but effective affair, recreating the live performances that Kylie has used to promote the song in the UK. Have a look for yourself:

“Better Than Today” is released in the UK on December 5. As yet, there is no word on a release date from Warner Australia.

  1. I think the music video for Better Than Today (which was also directed by Kylie) is a fantastic music video and does the song and Kylie justice. Kylie’s always been about fun- the video is fun… love the “live” performance feel to the video, yet we know it’s still a music video with fantastic music-video effects… you can tell Kylie was genuinely having fun making the video with her touring crew and the microphone stand dancing is brilliant (thank you Tony!) and pacman and pink shoulder wigs make the video unforgettable. Is the video as high-tech and catchy as Cant Get You Out Of My Head? No. But it doesn’t need to be. We just need tomorrow to be better than today… and this video accomplishes that thought.
