2006 Gay Games have their day

Next year’s Gay Games will be on the agenda in Sydney at a registration and information session on Sunday.

The event, organised by queer sporting organisation Team Sydney, is a chance for locals to register for Gay Games VII, which open in Chicago in July 2006.

A US$25 discount will be offered to those who register on the day.

Volunteers will be in attendance and they will be able to answer all questions about registration and about the Games, said Team Sydney director Dave Randall.

Team Sydney will also answer questions about rival event Outgames, which begins in Montr? a week after Gay Games VII close.

The registration day ties in with similar events on the same day around the world, and aims to encourage Gay Games participation.

One of the things people tend not to realise is that the Gay Games are for everybody, whether you’re good at the sport or not, Randall said.

Everybody can go along and have fun. It really is a meeting place for people from all over the world.

The Gay Games VII registration event is at the B-Five Internet Centre, 6-14 Oxford St, Darlinghurst, this Sunday 15 May from 12 noon. For more information visit www.teamsydney.org.au
