ACON withdraws Pan vitamins

ACON announced the withdrawal of five products from its vitamin service following the recall of Pan Pharmaceutical products by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).

The products withdrawn by ACON are not subject to the TGA recall, but include items that may have been packaged by Pan.

The five products are Ultra Flora DF capsules, Vitamin E 500 tocopherols plus selenium, Meta EPA/DHA fish oils, lipoic acid and Femme Essentials.

AIDS Council of NSW president Adrian Lovney said many of the types of products covered by the TGA recall were manufactured by companies other than Pan and that alternatives may be available.

Any person living with HIV/AIDS who is concerned about the vitamins and complementary therapies that they currently use is advised to discuss the issue with their medical practitioner or contact the TGA on 1800 220 007 or visit their website at www.TGA.health.gov.au, Lovney said.
