Bound for glory

Bound for glory

Canberra will play host to two Ready For Raunch BDSM seminars for men later this month. The workshops will be run by Brian Mier, of Melbourne’s Eagle Leather, who is making a flying visit especially to teach eager Canberrans about BDSM, power play and domination.

Mier is being brought to the nation’s capital by the AIDS Action Council of the ACT.

To be held at Westlund House on November 15, the two seminars -” Tops and Bottoms and Adventures In BDSM -” are a chance for the curious and the seasoned to come together and explore the art of BDSM. The morning seminar, Tops and Bottoms, is something of a beginner’s workshop, and aims to give participants a general knowledge and awareness of safe practices in bondage,
discipline and sado-masochism.

The aim of the seminar is to get the curious and inexperienced more comfortable and open to the idea of power exchange in erotic play.

Adventures In BDSM is for the more experienced, confident player, and looks at ways to keep BDSM play fresh and engaging. The seminar will look at the role humour and fun can play in BDSM, and will encourage participants to occasionally move outside their comfort zones and incorporate new ideas into their power play games.

Participants are encouraged to bring a sense of humour and an open mind, but should be aware that neither seminar will involve any live nudity or sexual activity -” rather, they are opportunities for the presenters to share their experiences and opinions about BDSM.

Each $10 ticket includes a free pass to the Champions Lounge at the Mustang Ranch, Fyshwick, where participants will have an opportunity to road test some of the skills learned in the seminars. Who knows, it being Canberra, you might even get the chance to flagellate your local member (no pun intended).
