Catherine takes on Albee

Sassy, sexy actress Catherine McClements returns to Belvoir St Theatre next month for a new production of Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

McClements, long popular with the lesbian community thanks to her role in Water Rats, returns to the Belvoir stage in Benedict Andrews’s production, which opens 8 August.

McClements and Martin Csokas play George and Martha, a bitter couple who take the audience on an unflinching journey to the bitter and desperate heart of love.

It is a funny and exhilarating look at what happens when truth and illusion go for each other’s throat in the citadel of democracy.

Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? runs 9 August-16 September at Belvoir St. Tickets start at $32. Details and bookings: 9699 3444 or www.belvoir.com.au.
