Catholic Acceptance

Acceptance Sydney, the organisation for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Catholics, will host a national conference during the Queen’s Birthday weekend. This year’s conference theme will focus on gay spirituality and on building the spirit between various gay religious communities. It will commence with a welcoming Mass on Friday 6 June and workshops and a communal dinner on Saturday 7 June. The national conference is held every two years, with Sydney last hosting it in 1997. Acceptance was established in Sydney 30 years ago, sprouting chapters in various Australian states. The organisation celebrates a weekly Mass at St Canice’s Catholic Church, Elizabeth Bay, on Fridays at 8pm. For more information on the organisation or conference registrations (the conference costs $55) visit www.gaycatholic.com.au or call the Acceptance line 9568 4433.
