Charity dinner for equality campaign

Australian Marriage Equality (AME) is asking people to dine out for a good cause at one of Sydney’s leading restaurants.

“This coming year will bring with it many challenges, especially with an expected parliamentary vote that could make history by legislating for marriage equality,” AME national convenor Alex Greenwich said.

“To begin the year well resourced and prepared for the challenges ahead we are pleased to announce we will be hosting the Equality Dinner on January 25.”

The fully inclusive $300 a head dinner will be held at the three-hat rated Quay restaurant on Level 1 of the Overseas Passenger Terminal in The Rocks. Keynote speakers will include former AMA head Professor Kerryn Phelps and wife Jackie Stricker-Phelps, writer Mia Freedman and veteran LGBTI equality activist Rodney Croome.

It will be MCed by radio presenter Geoff Field and husband Jason Kerr.
