FRAN Bowron, co-chair of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Board, has announced her resignation.

Bowron was on the board for four years, including three years as co-chair.

“It’s been an enormous honour and privilege to serve on the board of this amazing organisation and I thank you for allowing me to do so,” said Bowron.

“Thanks to the efforts of every single person involved, I leave knowing it is in a stronger position than it has been for quite a few years. I also know that it is in safe hands.

“I look forward with excitement to the new energy, new perspectives and new ideas that the next years will bring, and to watching the organisation continue to develop, adapt and grow.”

Bowron’s departure has created a vacancy. The board is seeking applications from people with skills and experience in areas including strategy development, human resources or risk management. Full details are available online.
