Community Health Survey comes to you

Community Health Survey comes to you

ACON recruiters will be approaching people at 20 local GLBT venues to find participants for the biannual Sydney Gay Community Periodic Survey.
The survey provides vital information to HIV groups, including the National Centre in HIV Social Research, Positive Life and ACON. It covers areas of sexual behaviour, drug use and sexual health in our community.
These surveys give us a very useful picture of how gay men in our community are living their lives, ACON’s manager of policy, planning and research David Scamell said.
This is important for an organisation like ACON so we can be aware of any social, sexual or drug use trends that are developing which then allows us to respond with appropriate health promotion messages.
So if you get approached by one of our recruiters, please take part in the survey. It only takes 10 minutes, is completely confidential and will help us keep our community as healthy as possible.
Last year’s survey attracted 3500 participants.
Recruiters will collect information until August 30.
